#SuspenseIncludesYou Twitter Pitch—everything you need to know:

  • On Wednesday, September 23, 2020 from 8am ET to 6pm ET, Harlequin Intrigue, Harlequin Romantic Suspense and Love Inspired Suspense editors will be monitoring the #SuspenseIncludesYou hashtag on Twitter for book pitches from under-represented and own voices authors.
  • Add a hashtag for #HarlequinIntrigue, #HarlequinRomanticSuspense or #LoveInspiredSuspense to let us know which Harlequin suspense series you are targeting.
    If one of our editors gives your pitch a “like”, please send your first chapter and story synopsis to Harlequin Romantic Suspense, Love Inspired Suspense or Harlequin Intrigue for review as requested by the editor and submit it at Also, include “Suspense Includes You” in the subject line.
  • Make sure your submission is long enough. One chapter should be about 3000-5000 words.
  • All submissions will be read and responded to within 60 days.

If we love your submission, we’ll invite you to submit a full manuscript for consideration for one of our suspenseful romance lines. You’ll find the writing guidelines and word counts for Harlequin’s suspense series here.

We’re holding this Twitter pitch event to connect with underrepresented voices who love to write romantic suspense and inspirational romantic suspense. We welcome submissions from all authors at any time to Harlequin Intrigue, Love Inspired Suspense, and Harlequin Romantic Suspense via Submittable.

The romance writing and reading community includes people of all backgrounds, communities and cultures who share an enjoyment of stories that celebrate love and happiness. Harlequin is committed to bringing readers a wide range of stories that reflect our diverse society.

We want to publish more diverse and inclusive voices and stories. We welcome all authors to the Harlequin community and we are reaching out to especially welcome and invite story submissions from Black writers for Harlequin’s romance lines.

There’s no time limit on this call for submissions. You can submit your manuscript for consideration whenever the time is right for you. It can be an #ownvoices story or another story you want to tell. Please include the #RomanceIncludesYou hashtag with your title and submit to the romance line best suited to your story. We will offer our editorial feedback within 60 days.

The Harlequin Historical/Mills & Boon Historical series is excited to launch this new blitz for aspiring authors!

Our readers around the world love Viking, Medieval and Highlander stories, and we’re looking for more talented new voices to write romances against these evocative settings.

These are the times of the ultimate alpha hero—whether he’s a Medieval knight, a Highland laird or a Viking warrior! He’s rough, tough, and brave in battle, but also prepared to fight for the woman he loves…

This is an opportunity to showcase your historical warrior romance to our editors and get some helpful feedback in an accelerated time frame—and maybe even become the newest Harlequin Historical/Mills & Boon Historical author!

Warriors Wanted! Blitz—everything you need to know:

  • Opens Friday 5th June 2020. Submit to us here!
  • Make sure your submission is long enough. One chapter should be about 3000-5000 words.
  • Submit the first chapter and synopsis here
  • Closes at 7 p.m. EST/midnight UK BST Sunday 21st June 2020.
  • All submissions will be read and responded to by 12 noon EST/5p.m. UK BST Monday 6th July.

If we love your submission we’ll invite you to submit further chapters and work with you on developing your story.

This blitz is specifically targeting Viking, Medieval and Highlander era romances, but we’re always looking for Historical submissions from under-represented authors set in other historical time periods. Harlequin Feel Good Creator's Fund for Inspiring Storytellers

Harlequin has launched the Creator Fund as part of the Harlequin Feel Good Project. The Creator Fund continues Harlequin’s 70-year tradition of promoting female storytellers by offering funding to women creating feel-good content.

The Creator Fund is designed to attract and support up-and-coming and established female writers (in the US and Canada) of fiction, TV or movie scripts, who tell feel-good stories with a unique point of view. We are looking for submissions that will leave audiences feeling uplifted in a wide range of genres—comedy, drama, suspense, adventure, historical and more. Submissions will be accepted from January 23, 2019 to March 23, 2019.

Since launching So You Think You Can Write in 2010 we’ve discovered and published 30 new writers and counting, across 15 Harlequin categories. Whether you write historical or paranormal romance, romantic suspense, Blaze-worthy sexy romance or wholesome Heartwarming romantic stories, there’s a Harlequin category perfect for you! And this year we welcome Carina Press to So You Think You Can Write, expanding our eligible categories to include sci-fi/futuristic romance, LGBTQ romance, New Adult romance and more.
